Itinerary
Come and enjoy with us a 9-day adventure through the northern and southern Andean Araucanía, let yourself be surprised by the wonders that this place offers. All this accompanied by a comforting relaxation in our Casa Río, where our only concern is that our guests feel at home and enjoy the concept developed by the National Architect, Cazú Zegers, of the luxury of essentials.
DAY 1
Pick up at the Temuco airport (transport shared with the entire group) and transfer to Malalcahuello, commune of Curacautín, approx. 1 hr 40 min trip.
Arrival at Casa Río. Free afternoon to enjoy the facilities. Dinner at home.
DAY 2
Breakfast.
Ascent to the Lonquimay Volcano 2,865 meters above sea level. From the summit, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada, Llaima, Villarrica, Tolhuaca, Callaqui, Antuco and Lanin volcanoes. Then we skied down.
Return home and free afternoon.
Dinner at the Lodge.
DAY 3
Breakfast.
Ascent to the Sierra Nevada Volcano 2,554 meters above sea level, inserted in the Conguillio National Park. To reach its summit, you must cross a beautiful Araucaria forest,
Lengas and Coihues. Once at the summit, we will have beautiful views of lakes and volcanoes.
Then we skied down.
Return home and free afternoon.

DAY 4
Breakfast.
We will take an excursion to the starting point of “The Pehuenche Route” created by the National Architect Cazú Zegers. For that, we will travel through the Cordillera De Las
Roots to a sector called Arenales, where we will take a randonnee ride and then share a lunch with people from the Pehuenche community that resides in the sector.
Return to Malalcahuello.
Dinner at home.
DAY 5
Breakfast at the Lodge. Transfer from Malalcahuello to Pucón (approximately 3 hours). Arrival at your accommodation (to be confirmed) where we will spend the next 4 days of this wonderful adventure through Araucanía.
DAY 6
Breakfast.
Ascent to Villarrica Volcano. More than 1,500 meters of elevation gain to reach the summit and enjoy the beautiful views from the top of the active Villarrica Volcano. From this point we will begin to descend to reach the base of the mountain. Transfer to Pucón.
There is the possibility of upgrading the experience including the descent to Termas Geometricas. Value per extra person USD 150.

DAY 7
Breakfast.
Ascent to the Quetrupillan Volcano. Very early in the morning, we will go to Palguin, where the mountain path begins to climb Quetrupillan. The route is gentle and initially crosses a mixed forest that ends at approximately 1,600 meters. After a couple of hours we will arrive at the spectacular open and sleeping crater.
Dinner at home.
DAY 8
Breakfast.
This day will be a relaxed morning in the town and then we will move to a small area called Quelhue. This experience will be a connection with the Mapuche culture. We will go to a ruca where we can appreciate the customs and way of life of this ancient culture. Finally, to close the day, we will go to the mountain to watch the sunset towards the West. Dinner in Pucón.
DAY 9
This day is the end of the experience where we can enjoy the latest purchases in the
town. Return to Temuco airport.

Where is Casa Río Lodge located?We are in Malalcahuello commune of Curacautín Region of Araucanía, Chile. From the Capital Santiago it is possible to arrive by car or plane. Car: Distance of 718 km. When leaving Santiago you must take route 5 south to the town of Victoria, then continue to Curacautín, from there advance 30 km to Malalcahuello. Plane: You can take a plane from the city of Santiago to Temuco. The distance from Temuco to Malalcahuello is 140 km. Our programs include transfer for the entire group from the Temuco airport.

What is the Weather like in Malalcahuello?Malalcahuello has an oceanic climate. Rain falls on all months of the year. The annual temperature is 16° and the average annual precipitation is 989 mm, the average humidity is 80%. Between the months of November and April it is characterized by having a pleasant temperature and little precipitation. During the months between May and October temperatures drop and therefore precipitation increases. During the months between June and October we have low temperatures and snow, making it a perfect time for winter sports.
