Come and enjoy with us a 5-day adventure through the Andean Araucanía and let yourself be surprised by the wonders of this place. All this accompanied by a comforting relax in our Casa Río.
Day 1
Pick up at Temuco airport (transport shared with the entire group) and transfer towards Malalcahuello, commune of Curacautín, approx. 1 hr 40 min trip. Arrival at Casa Río. Free afternoon to enjoy the facilities.

Day 2
Breakfast.
Trekking Sierra el Colorado We will walk along a path within the Malalcahuello national reserve full of forests Andean, where the lengas and araucarias will dazzle every meter of the route. Once in At the top of the mountain range we can see a large number of valleys and volcanoes of Araucanía Andean.

In the afternoon we will go on a friendly kayak descent down the Cautín River. The view to Lonquimay volcano, the diverse wildlife and its calm waters make this activity a memorable instance of connection with nature and tranquility.

Day 3
Breakfast.
Horseback riding that begins an adventure that covers the history of the Pehuenche culture, crossing ancestral territories and paths that the communities traveled in search of food and medicine. We invite you to be part of this experience, where local guides (Pehuenches) will tell us and make us live a part of their history.
All this surrounded by mountains, araucarias and ending with a delicious barbecue where You can also delight in Pehuenche cuisine.
Return home and free afternoon to enjoy the facilities.

Day 4

Bicycle: MTB Cordillera las Roots / Ciclovia Lonquimay
An activity that will take you to cross the entire Las Roots mountain range. an ascension along the R-89 route full of incredible vegetation and the most impressive viewpoints in the city.
Araucanía Andina and then descend to the city of Lonquimay where we will eat our box lunches and give ourselves a break. Then we will begin the return to Casa Rio along the 19 kilometers of cycle path recycled from the old railway line of the “El tren de la Araucanía” that will fill us with mountain landscapes and history.

Pick up and transfer to Temuco airport (shared transportation for the entire group)

Where is Casa RÃo Lodge located?We are in Malalcahuello commune of CuracautÃn Region of AraucanÃa, Chile. From the Capital Santiago it is possible to arrive by car or plane. Car: Distance of 718 km. When leaving Santiago you must take route 5 south to the town of Victoria, then continue to CuracautÃn, from there advance 30 km to Malalcahuello. Plane: You can take a plane from the city of Santiago to Temuco. The distance from Temuco to Malalcahuello is 140 km. Our programs include transfer for the entire group from the Temuco airport.

What is the Weather like in Malalcahuello?Malalcahuello has an oceanic climate. Rain falls on all months of the year. The annual temperature is 16° and the average annual precipitation is 989 mm, the average humidity is 80%. Between the months of November and April it is characterized by having a pleasant temperature and little precipitation. During the months between May and October temperatures drop and therefore precipitation increases. During the months between June and October we have low temperatures and snow, making it a perfect time for winter sports.
